11th European Continuous Casting Conference 2024 (ECCC)

About the ECCC

The European Continuous Casting Conference (ECCC) is an international specialist conference on continuous casting of steel. The 11th edition took place from 7 to 11 October 2024 at the Philharmonie Essen and was hosted by the Steel Institute VDEh (Steel Institute, Düsseldorf) together with TEMA Technologie Marketing AG (Aachen) as organiser. More than 350 participants from all over the world discussed current innovations in the continuous casting industry, including soft reduction, cooling technologies, mould instrumentation, near net shape casting, heat transfer modelling, sustainability and digital twins. The programme comprised almost 100 presentations, an exhibition with more than 15 exhibitors, an evening event and plant tours. The conference sees itself as a platform for knowledge transfer and networking in the continuous casting and steel industry.
