About 3D|CORE
3D|Core GmbH & Co. KG, based in Herford, is a manufacturer of lightweight components and supplier of structurally reinforcing 3D|CORE™ foam cores. The patented core consists of a honeycomb structure in a closed-cell PET or XPS foam and serves as an integrated flow aid for synthetic resins, for example in the High-Speed RTM process (HSRTM) with cycle times of less than one hour. After curing, a robust fibre-foam-core system is created with increased compressive, shear and bending properties compared with standard foam cores. The fields of application include marine, design and architecture, rail transport, sport and leisure, wind energy, recreational vehicles, industry, aviation and automotive. In addition to production, the company offers product development, component drawing and project support up to the finished product. Production is located in Herford in an environmentally friendly building complex with state-of-the-art technology.

Materials & Processes
PET foam (closed-cell)
Core material of the 3D|CORE™ honeycomb structure for lightweight sandwich parts.
XPS foam
Alternative closed-cell core material for the patented honeycomb structure.
R-PET
Recycled material for sustainable and cost-efficient component production.
Vinyl ester
Cost-efficient resin system that, thanks to the core's styrene resistance, can be processed instead of epoxy resin.
Epoxy resin
Resin matrix for high-strength fibre-foam-core systems.
Glass fibres
Skin layer and reinforcement material in the sandwich build-up.
Technical textiles
Forms the symbiosis with the foam cores for integrated flow aid and strength.
Polymer-mineral foam (3D|CORE FR Sealing™)
Closed-cell foam for fire protection in lightweight sandwich constructions; AVK Innovation Award winner.
