About 3D Laser BW
3D Laser BW GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kirchheim unter Teck, has specialised in additive manufacturing of metal components using the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process, also known as Selective Laser Melting (SLM), since 2011. The company offers services along the entire value chain: from design consulting, simulation and feasibility studies to 3D printing of complex metal components and 5-axis CNC post-processing, heat treatment, surface finishing and assembly of assemblies. On request, the company also develops its own metal powders. Materials processed include stainless steel (1.4404, 1.4542), aluminium (AlSi10Mg), tool steel 1.2709, titanium as well as the nickel alloys Inconel 625 and 718. Customers come from aerospace, motorsport, the automotive industry, special machinery construction, tool and mould making, medical technology, energy and rail technology. Since 2018, 3D Laser BW has been part of the BENSELER group of companies (Markgröningen), allowing it to offer additional coating and deburring processes. The company has seven employees.

Materials & Processes
Selective Laser Melting (Laser Powder Bed Fusion)
Powder-bed-based laser melting for complex, function-integrated metal components directly from CAD data, without tools.
Stainless Steel 1.4404
Corrosion-resistant stainless steel with high tensile strength, used e.g. in aerospace, medical technology and chemical plants.
Stainless Steel 1.4542
Excellent ductile pre-alloyed stainless steel for functional parts, small series and spare parts.
Aluminium Alloy AlSi10Mg
Lightweight aluminium alloy with good thermal properties, ideal for thin-walled, high-stress components.
Tool Steel 1.2709 (X3NiCoMoTi 18-9-5)
Martensitic age-hardenable steel with maximum strength, used e.g. for toolmaking such as aluminium die-casting moulds.
Inconel 625 (NiCr22Mo9Nb)
Heat-resistant nickel-chromium alloy with high tensile and fracture strength for high-temperature applications.
Inconel 718 (NiCr19Fe19Nb5)
Nickel-based alloy with good properties up to 700 °C, e.g. for turbine components in aerospace.
Titanium
Lightweight, high-strength material for demanding lightweight construction and high-temperature applications.
5-Axis CNC Machining
Machining from solid and precise post-processing of additively manufactured components in a single setup.
Heat Treatment
Thermal post-treatment of metal components to optimize properties.
Surface Finishing & Coating
Within the BENSELER group: KTL, powder coating, wet paint, PVD, zinc flake, GEOMET, DELTA Protekt and more.
Deburring Processes
ECM, HDW, thermal, cryogenic and chemical deburring for burr-free, ready-to-install parts.
