About 3DTAV
3DTAV is a toolmaking and machining company based in Marinha Grande, Portugal, a traditional centre of the Portuguese mould-making industry. The company designs and manufactures injection moulding tools for series applications up to a weight of 10 tonnes, aluminium prototype tools for rapid tooling, and thermoform tools for processing carbon fibre, wood and resin. In addition to toolmaking, 3DTAV offers CAD engineering, 3- to 5-axis CNC machining of light and ferrous alloys, and contract milling services. Quality assurance is carried out through dimensional inspection using a FARO portable measuring arm and a coordinate measuring machine (CMM); the company also manufactures gauges and fixtures (Means of Control). Production is carried out on the basis of 2D or 3D drawings. Customers include companies from the plastics industry, toolmaking, the glass industry and mechanical engineering.
