Development and manufacturing of QCM-D measurement instruments for real-time surface and interaction analysis

3T analytik GmbH & Co. KG
Neuhausen ob Eck (DE)New on Amplifa
About 3T analytik
3T analytik, based in Neuhausen ob Eck, develops and produces quartz crystal microbalances with dissipation/damping monitoring (QCM-D) for the real-time analysis of molecular binding, interactions and surface-associated phenomena. The product portfolio comprises the qCell T and qCell instrument series, the hand-held QCM-D probe eSorptionProbe with EQCM-D option, microfluidic and optical modules, sensors, software (qGraph, qGraph Viewer) and customised systems. Measurements are performed label-free and in real time via the resonance frequency and dissipation of AT-cut quartz sensors with gold electrodes; the qCell T series operates in the range of 5–50 MHz with eight overtones. Applications range from biofilm and cell analysis to blood coagulation, viscosity determination and electrochemical assays through to water analysis. Sales and service are handled worldwide via distributors in more than 13 countries, including partnerships with Metrohm. Customers come from the life sciences, medical technology, electrochemistry, materials science and academic research.

Service & Support
Materials & Processes
Quartz (AT-cut, piezoelectric, gold electrodes)
Piezoelectric sensor chip as a frequency/dissipation transducer for QCM-D measurements in liquid and gas phase.
Borosilicate glass
Investigated, for example, for etch rate measurements using QCM-D.
Polymer materials (COC, PTFE)
Non-activating fluidic materials of the flow cells, also compatible with whole blood and aggressive media.
