4Dvets AG, based in Reinach near Basel, develops data-based tools for movement diagnostics in dogs. The core product is LupoGait, a mobile gait analysis system with 6 or 12 wireless IMU sensors (Movella/Xsens technology) that are inserted into the LupoMove® sensor holders. In a measurement over a 20-meter distance, 34 biomechanical parameters such as joint angles, stride length, gait phases and load distribution are captured. The value chain includes development of sensor holders (textiles), software (LupoGait App and Manager), training, support and sales via partners. The LupoGait Puppy add-on accompanies the motor development of young dogs from 8 weeks of age. Development is carried out jointly with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW, Institute IM2) and the test and research practice orthoVET; the system is scientifically validated through peer-reviewed publications.
