6C Tools AG, headquartered in Dietlikon (Switzerland), manufactures drilling, milling, threading and polishing tools made of solid polycrystalline diamond (PKD) as well as PCBN tools. Machining is performed exclusively using ultrashort-pulse lasers, which compared with grinding and electrical discharge machining enables particularly gentle material removal without mechanical influences or binder damage. In addition to its standard product range, the company develops special tools for specific manufacturing requirements. The products are optimized for the machining of ceramics such as aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide and silicon nitride as well as cemented carbide, glass, glass-ceramic, sapphire and green bodies. Fields of application include, among others, the dental sector, jewelry and watches, bearing technology, mold making, mirror mounts and laser gyroscopes.
