About a-metal
a-metal AG, based in Zürich, develops and manufactures compact metal 3D printers based on powder bed technology together with a matching sieving station for powder conditioning and reuse. The systems, with cabinet-like dimensions (approx. 800 x 1000 x 1750 mm), use a proprietary cartridge system for closed powder handling, sensor-supported user guidance and an integrated glove box for depowdering, so that operation is possible after a brief introduction even without a specialized technical background. With a total investment of under CHF 100'000, the offering targets companies that want to establish additive metal 3D printing in-house. Prototypes, fixtures, tooling inserts with conformal cooling and complex micro-series are manufactured from stainless steel, tool steel, nickel, cobalt-chrome and titanium alloys; fields of application are in particular the dental sector (e.g. dentures and orthodontics) and general industry. The company supports customers from consulting through commissioning to support with a personal contact person. Deliveries and systems exist in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
