Family business since 1964: natural stone and tiles from Otzing
Abel GmbH is a master-certified company for natural stone processing and tile installation based in Otzing (Deggendorf district), Lower Bavaria. The family business, founded in 1964 by Rudolf Abel, today employs more than 30 skilled professionals and is operationally managed by Managing Director Shpend Kukiqi. The core of production is the in-house CNC workshop with a 5-axis CNC waterjet cutting system, CNC bridge saw and CNC machining centre, each with working surfaces of approx. 4 x 2 m. The company manufactures custom-made one-offs such as washbasins, kitchen worktops, spiral staircases and fireplace claddings as well as series of format slabs, rectified skirting boards, window sills and step slabs in accordance with DIN 18040. Natural stones such as marble, Jura limestone, Gauinger travertine, Brazilian quartzite and Portuguese limestone are processed, as well as ceramics; brass inlays are integrated as design elements. Measurements are taken digitally using a room laser, and planning including joint layout, drill holes and machine programmes is done in CAD. Customers are project developers, architects and public-sector clients in commercial, residential, hotel and swimming pool construction; the core market is Munich and southern Bavaria. References include the Rosewood Hotel Munich, the municipal baths of Munich and the Knorr-Bremse site in Munich.
