The company was founded in 2008 to bundle all activities in the field of renewable technologies within the ABEL Group, whose history dates back to 1912. Its core competencies lie in the technical planning, installation and commissioning of photovoltaic systems and battery storage with energy management systems, including smart control of heating, hot water generation and e-mobility. The portfolio also includes air-to-water heat pumps, air conditioning systems (in partnership with BOSCH Homecomfort), e-charging stations/wallboxes, backup power solutions, hot water generation with PV electricity, and the optimisation of existing systems, such as post-EEG conversions. The range of services covers consulting and system design as well as grid enquiries, feed-in contracts, registration in the Market Master Data Register, funding applications, and maintenance and service. Customers include private households, commercial, industrial and agricultural businesses, energy utilities, capital investors and public-sector entities. Around 120 internal and external employees work at ABEL ReTec; the headquarters comprises sales, site management, commercial administration, warehouse and the SONNEN ALM showroom.
