About ABUS Kransysteme
ABUS Kransysteme GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1965 and headquartered in Gummersbach. It manufactures overhead crane systems and hoists with load capacities from 80 kg to 120 t. The portfolio comprises single-girder and double-girder overhead travelling cranes, suspension rail systems, jib cranes, light gantry cranes as well as electric wire rope hoists and electric chain hoists. The value chain ranges from in-house development of crane components – drive and control technology, hoists and structural steelwork – through welding, machining and painting to complete assembly, delivery, installation and commissioning on site. Production materials are steel and aluminium; round steel chains comply with DIN 5685, and travel gear end carriages are machined as steel constructions to DIN 15018 in a single setup. Around 1,300 employees produce at three production sites around Gummersbach as well as in Marienheide-Rodt, with an annual capacity of approximately 6,000 crane systems and 14,000 hoist systems. Customers come from industries such as the steel industry, mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, shipyards, wind turbine construction and plastics processing; exports go to over 70 countries.
