About ABUS Kransysteme
ABUS Kransysteme is a family-owned company headquartered in Gummersbach, where its production is also located, and develops, manufactures and distributes crane technology for industrial and factory halls. The product range includes single-girder and double-girder overhead travelling cranes, suspension track systems (HB systems), wall-running cantilever cranes, semi-goliath cranes, column-mounted jib cranes, lightweight gantry cranes as well as electric wire rope hoists (GM series and Type Z) and electric chain hoists for loads from 80 kg to 120 t. The steel structures are built to DIN 15018, among other things using rolled steel and aluminium profiles; main girder connection plates are ultrasonically tested and machining is carried out in a single setup. In addition to manufacturing, ABUS offers service, repair and overhaul, EKH-certified inspections of lifting equipment and training in safe load slinging. With around 1,200 employees across Europe (as of 2021) and an international sales and service network, the company supplies crane solutions among others to the steel industry, mechanical engineering, the automotive sector and plastics processing, including 191 crane systems for KraussMaffei in Parsdorf.

Quality and Testing
Production and testing are carried out according to quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001. Steel structures are manufactured according to DIN 15018, main girder connection plates are ultrasonically tested; wire rope hoists are tested at the Lantenbach crane laboratory on an 11 m high test rig, and EKH-certified inspectors carry out lifting equipment inspections.
