About ABW Metalltechnik
ABW Metalltechnik GmbH is a specialist in sheet metal processing based in Weingarten (Baden) and produces demanding sheet metal parts, components and assemblies for a wide range of industries and applications. The company processes steel and stainless steel sheets, aluminium and surface-treated sheets, covering everything from laser cutting and punching to bending and folding, joining technology, painting (powder and wet painting), cable assembly and the assembly of complete assemblies. Customers come, among others, from energy and environmental technology, printing machinery construction, transport and traffic, as well as machine tool and plant engineering. ABW Metalltechnik was founded in 1932 and has been part of the ART Group since 1962, whose enclosure technology business division it is responsible for. With around 130 employees at two production sites in Germany (Weingarten and Hockenheim) and one plant in Lwówek Śląski (Poland), the company supplies leading manufacturers in mechatronics and mechanical engineering as a supplier of enclosure solutions, including EDI and KANBAN delivery directly to assembly lines.

Materials & Processes
Steel (sheets)
Base material for enclosure parts, assemblies and operator consoles in sheet metal processing.
Stainless steel (sheets)
For corrosion-resistant enclosure solutions and demanding sheet metal parts.
Aluminium (sheets and profiles)
Sheets and machined profiles, e.g. for LED lighting systems.
Surface-treated sheets
Pre-coated sheets, including pre-coated steel sheet in stainless steel look for cladding parts.
Laser cutting
Sheets up to 1,500 × 3,000 mm with positioning accuracy of 0.05 mm, also as contract work.
Punching
Forming, threaded extrusions, embossing and stamping fully automatic; combined with laser processing in one production step.
Bending & Folding
Parts up to 2,500 mm bending length on precision press brakes.
Powder coating
Solvent-free powder paints in all colors, with integrated pretreatment (circulation system); also as contract work.
Wet painting
High-quality visible parts, e.g. over 10,000 painted luminaire parts annually for an LED luminaire manufacturer.
Cable assembly
Assembly of luminaire cables and wiring harnesses including installation into assemblies.
