About ACI Industriearmaturen
ACI Industriearmaturen GmbH, based in Jülich (North Rhine-Westphalia), has been developing and manufacturing sight glass fittings for process observation in industrial plants since 2008. The portfolio includes round vessel sight glasses, long (oblong) sight glasses, flow sight glasses, level gauges, technical glasses, mica discs, pot-type strainers and high-temperature shut-off dampers/butterfly valves. In addition, the company supplies shut-off and control valves, check valves, sealing systems as well as fittings, flanges and screwed connections in customer-specific versions, and integrates pneumatic, electric and hydraulic actuator solutions. All components are made from certified premium materials for pressure-bearing systems; the glasses are thermally pre-stressed (tempered). The company is certified as a manufacturer under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU (Category III, Module H) and DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, and serves industries such as chemicals, power supply, fertilizer production, mining, wastewater treatment as well as electronics, laser and precision optics. Customers include, among others, Ebora BV, e.s.m. GmbH and JORD Energy; international deliveries go, among others, to the Netherlands and to fertilizer and mining customers worldwide. A sight glass configurator allows online configuration and direct enquiries.

Glass Materials and Processes
Borosilicate glass (round, thermally pre-stressed)
For applications under pressure and thermal and chemical stress up to 280 °C on a permanent basis, with high thermal shock resistance.
Borosilicate glass (long glasses, thermally pre-stressed)
Safety sight glasses for pressure, thermal and chemical stress, among others up to 345 bar unprotected or 414 bar in high-pressure fittings.
Borosilicate glass 3.3 (tubes and capillaries)
For tubular sight glasses and level gauges with visual inspection in pressurized pipelines up to 300 °C on a permanent basis.
Soda-lime glass
Round sight glass discs for applications with low thermal and chemical stress up to 150 °C.
BOROFLOAT® 33 (not thermally pre-stressed)
For high temperature operating conditions up to 450 °C permanently or 500 °C short-term, with a low coefficient of expansion.
Synthetic fused silica (≥99.9995 % SiO2)
For high-temperature applications up to 1000 °C on a permanent basis as well as precision optics, lasers, lithography and electronics.
Sapphire glass (sapphire monocrystal, 99.997 % Al2O3)
For extreme thermal and chemical stresses up to 2000 °C with good transmission in the UV range.
Mica (protective discs)
Mica discs protect transparent sight glasses with saturated steam and aggressive media, e.g. up to 320 °C.

Quality and Certification
ACI manufactures as a certified manufacturer under DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU (Category III, Module H). A quality assurance system monitored by a notified body covers the design, manufacture, testing and final acceptance of the pressure equipment; the glasses are checked during the process flow through production and quality inspections for property values and tight dimensional tolerances.
