About Adsorbus
Adsorbus develops and manufactures adsorption chillers based on MOF materials (Metal-Organic Frameworks) at its Berlin site. The heatChiller chiller uses water as a natural refrigerant (R718) and generates cooling from waste heat with driving heat from 50 °C. The performance range extends from 10 kW to 3 MW of cooling capacity per unit; each system is designed on a project-specific basis in terms of capacity, temperature profile, hydraulics and installation. At the core of in-house manufacturing are MOF rings and shell-and-tube heat exchangers, which are produced using a MOF ring process developed by the company and combined into a modular building block system. Enclosure manufacturing is carried out by the partner company SILICA at the Berlin site; assembly of the complete heatChiller takes place either at Adsorbus or at the production partner, depending on the project. Applications include building cooling, data centers, and industrial processes such as compressed air compressors, furnaces, drying, and process baths.

Materials and Processes
Water (natural refrigerant)
Water serves as the natural refrigerant in the heatChiller and is used adsorptively via MOF materials.
MOF (Metal-Organic Framework)
MOFs possess special properties in the uptake and release of water vapor and are processed into adsorber rings using the MOF ring process.
