Composites are our art
Aeroconcept GmbH was founded in 1994 by qualified engineers Carsten Weber and Thomas Schäfer as an engineering company for aviation technology and fiber composite technology. The company specializes in the repair and maintenance of aircraft with its core competence in the processing of fiber composite structures and operates a certified aviation maintenance operation (DE.145.0272) with CAMO approval (DE.MG.0272). In addition to aviation, the service area for wind turbine rotor blades has developed: using established procedures from the aviation sector and its self-developed rope access platform AEROCLIMB, even complex structure-related damage to rotor blades can be repaired without disassembly. In the AFARA research project, Aeroconcept is developing a procedure for adaptive, non-destructive testing of fiber composites using AI-supported radar, together with Fraunhofer FHR, Ruhr University Bochum, Bochum Institute for Technology, and IBG-Automation. The company also offers GWO training and manufactures test pieces, semi-finished products, and measurement materials from composites using infusion or injection processes.
