Wire Mills of the AGRO Group
AGRO Steel Wire GmbH was founded in 2004 and operates wire drawing mills in Bad Essen (Germany) and Szamotuły (Poland, Herkules Wire Sp. z o.o.). The product portfolio comprises patented drawn unalloyed spring steel wire to DIN EN 10270-1 as well as low-carbon iron and steel wire made from wire rod to DIN EN 16120-1, DIN EN 16120-2 and DIN EN 10025. Diameters range from 0.8 to 8.0 mm, with strength classes SL, SM, DM, SH and DH. Applications include bedding & seating (pocket spring, Bonnell, spiral and zig-zag spring wire), technical springs, screening and weaving technology, bent parts and ropes. Production is carried out without auxiliary substances such as hydrochloric acid, lead or natural gas; instead, mechanical descaling and inline phosphating are used. The wire rod is sourced exclusively from validated European rolling mills and is delivered to Bad Essen by rail via the company's own rail siding. Surfaces are bright, phosphated as well as copper-coated in a brilliant or matte finish.
