About Ahrens Yachtgutachten
Ahrens Yachtgutachten is an expert office run by Thomas Ahrens, master boatbuilder and marine surveyor for boats and yachts, based in Fehmarn on the Baltic Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. The range of services includes valuation and condition surveys, damage surveys following accident, break-in, material defect or collision, as well as technical consulting and repair and construction supervision. Based on a detailed inspection of hull, deck and all relevant on-board systems, the condition is documented, the extent of damage is presented and, upon request, a cost estimate for repair or refit work is prepared. Thomas Ahrens has been working as a boatbuilder for around 25 years and was employed at various shipyards on the Baltic Sea coast and abroad. Since 2006 he has been self-employed after obtaining his master craftsman examination in the boatbuilding and shipbuilding trade. The office is a member of the Association of Boat Experts and operates in Germany as well as various European countries.
