About AHW Werkzeugbau
AHW Werkzeugbau is a partner for toolmaking and metal processing founded in 2002 and based in Ennigerloh, Westphalia. The company manufactures stamping and bending tools, progressive die tools, hand inserts, cutting and transfer tools up to 3000 mm in length and 5000 kg in weight – from design with Cimatron through machining to final tool acceptance. Its value chain includes in-house design (3D and 2D models, common CAD data formats), CNC machining with seven machining centres and a CNC lathe, wire EDM on three Sodick machines, surface grinding as well as prototype and contract machining. Four toolmakers build and fine-adjust the tools; for inspection, a Tesa 3D measuring machine with PC-DMIS is available in a specially equipped measuring room. The team comprises around 13 employees including three apprentices; AHW is active as a training site for metalworking professions.

CNC milling
Seven machining centres from Haas and WEMAS manufacture tool and contract parts from metal.
CNC turning
CNC lathe Haas D350 with x 1500 mm for rotationally symmetric parts.
Wire EDM
Three Sodick wire EDM machines (up to 600 x 450 x 350 mm) with programming via Cimatron/DCAMCUT.
Surface grinding
Proth surface grinding machine (800 x 400 x 380 mm) for tool parts.
Stamping and bending toolmaking
Trial presses Müller 200 to. and WMW 150 to. for tool testing.
Design CAD/CAM
3D and 2D design with Cimatron, data exchange via STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, CATIA and others.
