About Albert Weber
ALBERT WEBER GmbH, headquartered in Markdorf, develops and manufactures engine and drivetrain components for the automotive industry and other sectors. In aluminum die casting at the Roding site, over two million components are produced annually using eleven cold-chamber die casting cells (8400–16000 kN); only secondary (recycled) aluminum is processed there. In machining, the company produces around 300,000 engine blocks, 500,000 cylinder heads and approximately two million transmission and housing parts per year from aluminum, magnesium and grey cast iron using 4- and 5-axis CNC machining centers as well as honing. The subsidiary WEBER FIBERTECH in Markdorf produces long- and continuous-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic components (LFT/D-LFT/E-LFT) with glass or carbon fibers on a fully automated system. In addition, the company offers tool and fixture making, prototypes and small series (Saarbrücken) as well as assembly of subassemblies up to system supply. Around 900 employees work at nine production sites in Germany and Hungary.

Only recycled aluminum is processed at the Roding die casting plant.
Magnesium
Light metal for machining of engine and drivetrain components.
Grey cast iron
Raw material for engine blocks and transmission/housing parts in machining.
Long-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics (LFT/D-LFT)
Matrix material for large-area, high-strength lightweight components.
Glass and carbon fibers (organic sheets, UD tapes, tape-woven fabric)
Continuous fibers for structural reinforcement in the E-LFT process.
Aluminum die casting (cold chamber)
Eleven die casting cells (8400–16000 kN) for thin-walled, highly complex series parts.
Machining 4-/5-axis CNC, honing
Precision machining in the micrometer range with high-speed machining and CBN tools.
E-LFT process (patented)
Series-ready lightweight construction process with integrated compounding for components up to 2 m².
