Algra tec AG – 365° system manufacturer for input systems, front panels & sensors
Algra tec AG is a Swiss system manufacturer of custom input systems (HMI), industrial signs, front panels, housings, electronic assemblies and precision sensor components. The company was founded in 1959 as a manufacturer of industrial signs and has been patenting piezo-based systems (DYNAPIC) since 1979; today Algra positions itself as the market leader in touch technologies, among other things with its own Agnostic Touch sensor technology, which also works behind metal and glass. Manufacturing includes CNC milling of aluminium front panels, anodizing with printing under the anodic layer, painting, screen and film printing, assembly of electronics and assemblies, as well as the development of force sensors (strain gauges), piezo elements and the modular Weightpad scale system made of aluminium, stainless steel and plastic. Plastic and die-cast parts are produced and finished in cooperation with Asian partners. As a 365° system manufacturer, Algra supplies industries such as kitchen and food processing, industry and automation, wellness and bathroom, medical technology as well as transport and mobility, with reference customers such as SBB, Stadler, Grohe, Geberit and Rollomatic. The headquarters with production is located in Merenschwand, Switzerland.

Materials & manufacturing processes
Aluminium
Anodized aluminium signs and front panels with a glass-hard anodic layer for maximum mechanical and chemical resistance.
Polycarbonate
Reverse-printed polycarbonate front panels and overlays, e.g. for DYNAPIC piezo keyboards.
PET
PET front panels with resistive ink technology and 7-colour film under-printing for touch panels.
Polyester film
Reverse-printed polyester film for adhesive labels with DataMatrix code and digital printing.
PMMA
PMMA viewing windows for piezo keyboards and PMMA carrier plates for outdoor applications.
Tempered glass
Chemically strengthened glass with integrated ITO sensor layers for PCAP touch systems.
Stainless steel
Housing material for Weightpad scales, acid and alkali resistant depending on the version.
Piezo elements
Piezoelectric elements for vibration sensing, pressure measurement and piezo keyboards.
Force sensors (strain gauges)
Agnostic strain gauge sensors, SMD-mountable, for touch surfaces and force measurement.
