About Aljo
Aljo is a medium-sized company from Berne in northern Germany with around 300 employees and revenue of approximately €52 million. For more than five decades, the company has been developing and manufacturing customised lightweight structures and systems made of aluminium and carbon fibre composite (CFRP) – from individual components to prototypes and small series through to large series and complex assemblies. Manufacturing includes 2D and 3D milling (3-, 4- and 5-axis), turning, deep drawing and edging, bending, welding, bonding, heat and surface treatment as well as assembly including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems. Customers are leading OEMs from aerospace (Airbus, Boeing), marine and defence technology (thyssenkrupp Marine Systems), automotive (Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles) as well as yacht and cruise ship construction (Meyer-Werft). With a revenue share of over 35 % in defence technology, Aljo positions itself as a strategic platform for security-critical applications. The headquarters in Berne offer approximately 17,000 m² of production space; a worldwide after-sales service with ILS and spare parts supply accompanies the systems throughout their entire life cycle.

Materials and Processes
Aluminium
Core material for lightweight structures and systems in aerospace, marine and automotive, processed through milling, forming, welding and bonding.
Carbon fibre composite (CFRP)
In use since 2013, e.g. for hangar doors, and part of structural and system manufacturing using lightweight materials.
