About Alu-met
Alu-met GmbH, headquartered in Nüziders (Vorarlberg), was founded in 1980 as a trading company and is today an independent producer and supplier of aluminium extrusion billets of the 6000 alloy series. The group includes two own remelting foundries: Aluminium GmbH Nachrodt (AGN) in Germany with a capacity of 84,000 tonnes per year and Speedline Aluminium Gießerei GmbH in Schlins (Austria) with 96,000 tonnes per year. In total, around 180,000 tonnes of extrusion billets can be produced annually for the Central European market. Production is based on remelting customer and trade scrap (closed loop recycling) as well as the use of low-CO2 primary aluminium; according to company information, the carbon footprint is 3.05 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of billet. Customers are exclusively extrusion plants in Europe, which process the billets into profiles for the automotive, construction, mechanical and plant engineering, and electrical industries. In 2025, the group generated revenue of approximately 280 million euros with around 130 employees. Management is headed by DI Dr. Gerhard Anger; the owner is the GST Privatstiftung.
