About AMPCO METAL
AMPCO METAL is a manufacturer established in 1914 of high-performance copper alloys, including AMPCO® aluminium bronzes and AMPCOLOY® high-copper alloys. The company produces semi-finished products and fully machined components such as bearing bushings, wear plates, tube bending tools, injection mold inserts, die casting plungers and welding electrodes. The value chain extends from in-house alloy production through casting processes (continuous casting, centrifugal casting, sand casting, vacuum casting, the patented magneto-hydro-dynamic MICROCAST® process) to 3- to 5-axis CNC machining, EDM, forging, extrusion and additive manufacturing of copper alloy powders (PBF-LB/EB, laser cladding, MIM, cold gas spraying). Customers are found in aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, marine, the steel industry, plastics processing, resistance welding and Oil, Gas & Chemical. Group headquarters are located in Marly, Switzerland; the network comprises five foundries (including Switzerland, France, Brazil, China), six machining centers and sales companies in 16 countries with around 400 employees.
