About Anke Oberflächentechnik
Anke GmbH & Co. KG Oberflächentechnik, based in Essen, specializes in functional surface treatment and mechanical machining of metal components. Its core services are hard chrome plating, electroless and electrolytic nickel plating as well as heat treatments. These are complemented by mechanical processes such as polishing, grinding and honing to achieve defined surface properties on components. The company processes more than 150,000 components per year and employs around 70 staff whose average length of service exceeds 20 years. Since 1997, Anke has been part of the Parzer Group, an association of five companies for surface treatment and mechanical machining in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2018 the company moved into a new building at the city harbor in Essen; since 2024, a 750 kWp photovoltaic system has covered part of its energy needs.

Processes and Materials
Hard Chrome Plating
Electroplating process for producing wear-resistant, hard chrome layers on components.
Electroless Nickel Plating
Nickel layer is formed by a redox reaction without external current, producing uniform layers even on complex geometries.
Electrolytic Nickel Plating
Electroplated nickel deposition for corrosion- and wear-protected surfaces.
Heat Treatment
Processes for targeted modification of material properties such as hardness or stress state.
Polishing, Grinding, Honing
Mechanical machining processes for achieving the finest surface finishes.
