Sheet metal working from a single source since 1994
BBM Laseranwendungstechnik GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1994 in Abstatt, specializing in sheet metal working. Its range of services includes 2D and 3D laser cutting with 5-axis systems, laser engraving, bending, deep drawing, CNC milling and CNC turning, as well as joining, welding (MIG/MAG/TIG, resistance and laser welding) and assembly work. The process chain is complemented by in-house tooling manufacture for deep-drawing and special tools including EDM, in-house mechanical surface treatment, and coatings via partner companies. Production covers steel, stainless steel, aluminium, galvanized sheet, non-ferrous metals such as copper, bronze and brass, plastics and special materials – from prototypes to large series. With modern metrology (Faro measuring arm, Werth FlatScope, Keyence 3D scanner), reverse engineering and a design service, BBM serves industries such as automotive, mechanical engineering, medical technology, electrical engineering, household appliances and robotics. The company is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and offers a 24h express service.

Materials and processes
2D laser cutting
Burr-free cutting of complex contours in sheet up to 20 mm steel, 12 mm stainless steel and 10 mm aluminium – with no tooling costs.
3D laser cutting (5-axis)
Contactless cutting of formed components and tubes in hard-to-reach areas with consistent cut quality.
Deep drawing
Seamless hollow bodies from simple cups to multi-stage drawn complex geometries with increased strength through work hardening.
Tooling manufacture
Deep-drawing and special tools from in-house design incl. turning, milling and EDM with short production times.
Steel (S235, S355, S420, S500, S700)
Structural steels in various thicknesses in stock for load-bearing structures and massive components.
Stainless steel
For hygiene requirements and corrosive environments, available in various thicknesses from stock.
Aluminium
Lightweight materials with high strength, in stock in various thicknesses.
Galvanized sheet
Weather-resistant, durable sheet metal constructions for outdoor use.
Copper
Non-ferrous metal for conductivity requirements, available in various grades and thicknesses.
Brass and bronze
For optical and special industrial requirements, available in various grades.
MIG/MAG/TIG, resistance and laser welding
Process selection depending on material and requirement, from delicate TIG cosmetic seams to series of spot welds.
