About Betz Werkzeugbau
Founded in 1996, Betz GmbH is a family-owned company based in Wernberg-Köblitz in the Upper Palatinate, specialising in the manufacture of injection moulding and deep-drawing tools, hotmelt overmoulding and foaming tools, as well as gauges and jigs and fixtures. Its portfolio includes development and design with Moldflow simulation (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, VISI PEPS Wire), complete toolmaking up to approx. 3 tonnes of tool weight, and contract manufacturing by start-hole, wire and die-sinking EDM, turning, milling, cylindrical and surface grinding for material hardnesses around 70 HRC, deep-hole drilling, laser engraving and laser welding. In addition, the company injection-moulds 1K and 2K plastic parts from initial sampling through to series production and offers rapid prototyping, spare parts manufacturing, as well as tool maintenance, repair and dimensional correction. Its customers come predominantly from the plastics processing industry, medical technology, electronics and the automotive sector. 18 employees work at the Wernberg-Köblitz site on modern, fully automated machines; the quality management system has been certified to ISO 9001 since 2008.

Materials & Processes
Die-sinking, wire and start-hole EDM
Machining of electrically conductive materials of the most diverse hardness levels, also in small and medium series.
Turning and milling
High-precision single-part and series production of plastics, non-ferrous metals and steels up to approx. 70 HRC.
Cylindrical and surface grinding
Precision machining of soft steels, hardened steels and carbide.
Conventional deep-hole drilling
Boreholes e.g. Ø 10 mm up to 500 mm depth in square workpieces made of many materials.
Laser engraving and laser welding
Fine contours as well as build-up welding of large areas.
Injection moulding 1K/2K
Production of plastic parts from initial sampling through to series production including quality assurance.
Rapid prototyping
Early testing of parts and tools for cost-saving error avoidance.
hardened, soft and corrosion-resistant steels
Main materials for tools, gauges and contract-manufactured parts.
Carbide
Machining by grinding.
Plastics
Material for contract manufacturing and injection-moulded parts.
Non-ferrous metals
Machining by turning and milling.
