About us – 3D measurement service provider since 2001

Digimold Reverse Engineering is a measurement service provider based in Sonneberg specializing in 3D scanning, optical component measurement, 3D digitization and industrial computed tomography. The company captures components, tools, molds and objects contactlessly and non-destructively – from millimeter-scale parts to large objects from 4 m upward. Based on the 3D measurement data, Digimold produces nominal-actual comparisons, form and position tolerance evaluations, initial sampling reports (EMPB), series measurements and material thickness analyses. A focus lies on surface reverse engineering (STL to STEP) and reverse engineering including CAD design, CAD repair and data preparation. For tool and mold making, tool corrections, warpage compensations and crowning/allowances in injection molding are developed on the basis of real measurement data. Systems in use are the ZEISS/GOM ATOS 5 3D scanner and the GOM TRITOP photogrammetry system; measurements are carried out in the air-conditioned measuring laboratory in Sonneberg or on-site at the customer. Customers come from the automotive industry, aerospace, mechanical engineering, tool and mold making, plastics technology, medical technology and other sectors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Quality & Measurement Accuracy

Measurements are performed in an air-conditioned measuring area/measuring laboratory as well as on-site, with documented measurement reports, standards-compliant inspection reports and EMPB. Deviations are visualized using false-color representation; form and position tolerances are fully evaluated.
