DMT GmbH & Co. KG, based in Essen, is an international engineering and consulting services company with 280 years of experience and part of the TÜV NORD GROUP. The company heads the Engineering Division of the TÜV NORD GROUP and is represented by 14 companies at 30 locations worldwide. The portfolio covers engineering, consulting, geotechnics, exploration and critical infrastructure as well as testing and measuring technology: among other things, coal and coke analyses are performed in Essen using a 10-kg retort oven and a semi-technical movable-wall coke oven (450–1,000 kg); drive test benches up to 3,000 kW and hydraulic test facilities up to 500 kW are operated in Krefeld; and steel ropes are tested destructively (up to 20 MN static, component lengths up to 26 m) and non-destructively at the Rope Testing Centre. The subsidiary Höntzsch GmbH & Co. KG in Waiblingen develops and produces flow measurement devices (anemometers and flowmeters) for extreme applications up to 550 °C and 200 m/s and operates a DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory. DMT also develops monitoring solutions (Condition Monitoring, TIP, RideGuard), cokemaking products such as the PROven® system as well as geo measuring systems.
