About EMG Casting AG
EMG Casting AG is a mid-sized foundry based in Waldkraiburg in south-eastern Bavaria. The company produces castings in grey cast iron, ductile iron (spheroidal graphite cast iron) and aluminium using machine moulding (sand casting) – with part weights up to 150 kg in the iron range and up to 30 kg in the aluminium range. Its range of services includes casting-oriented design consulting, pattern making, core production using core shooters and automatic core shooting machines, as well as machining and delivery of ready-to-install castings. The heart of production is a moulding line from HWS with a flask size of 700 x 800 mm and variable height; the melting plant consists of three medium-frequency and two mains-frequency crucible furnaces, with sand preparation carried out separately depending on the material. Customers include manufacturers of pumps and valves, companies from agricultural engineering, railway technology, drive technology and gear manufacturing, general mechanical engineering and environmental technology, as well as automotive suppliers, aerospace and shipbuilding. Around 120 employees generate revenue of €20–50 million.

Materials and Processes
Grey cast iron
Iron casting material, among others in grades EN-GJL-200 and EN-GJL-250 for components in mechanical and plant engineering.
Ductile iron (spheroidal graphite cast iron)
Spheroidal graphite cast iron according to EN 1563, e.g. EN-GJS-400-15 and EN-GJS-450-10, for higher-stressed castings.
Aluminium and aluminium alloys
Light-metal castings with part weights up to 30 kg, increasingly in demand.
