About the Engel Group
Engel Oberflächentechnik GmbH is the holding company of the Engel Group, an association of ten surface treatment plants located in Pohlheim, Bochum, Hörstel, Aachen, Kreuztal, Stephanskirchen, Geesthacht and Kurtscheid. The companies of the group finish metal and glass components through anodic oxidation (anodizing) and powder coating. In the anodizing sector, natural, colored, hard-anodized and stainless-steel-effect surfaces are produced on aluminum; components up to a tank size of 8500 x 460 x 1500 mm can be processed, with a semi-automatic large-scale plant and a fully automatic small-parts plant available. The powder coating portfolio covers aluminum, bare steel, galvanized, coil-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel as well as large components and special sizes, complemented by mechanical and chemical pretreatment, blasting, zinc spray coating, decorative finishes in wood, stone or metal effects, and the coating and printing of glass using the thermo-sublimation process. As a special capability, the group offers the anodizing of hollow-chamber profiles and tubes with internal contacting. Customer industries include medical technology, automotive, façade construction, mechanical engineering, interior fitting as well as architectural metalwork and metal construction. The family-owned company is run by the third generation.

Aluminum

Bare steel
Powder coating for indoor and outdoor applications with conversion layer or zinc primer.
Galvanized steel

Substrate for the EN 1090-certified corrosion protection process powder coating in a 2-layer system.
