The Company Behind the Precision

esp engineering gmbh is a privately owned mechatronics company from Gais in Appenzell, founded in 2006 and operating under its current name since 2008. The company develops and builds special machines, vision systems and measuring machines with performance in the micrometre range, covering mechanics, electronics and software from a single source. Its range of services includes concept development, process development, manufacturing, assembly, small-batch series production as well as maintenance, spare parts supply and technology transfer with complete documentation. Its own products are the FAOSI inspection system for automated surface analysis according to ISO 10110-7, the compact FAOSI Head vision sensor and the modular FAMOS machine platform. Reference projects include large-area microstructure replication (imprint) on substrates up to 1740 × 1300 mm² with ±5 µm axis accuracy as well as wafer replication systems with ±1 µm placement accuracy. Customers come from optics, semiconductor and microfabrication, medical technology, sensor technology and metrology as well as photonics and lasers; over 100 projects have been realised, with operations throughout the entire DACH region.
