About flora & farbe
flora & farbe is the Berlin studio of dyer, workshop leader and lecturer Elke Fiebig, dedicated to dyeing with plant colours. The offering includes workshops (bundle dye, mordanting and dyeing with plants, indigo, painting and printing), an online workshop, dye plant walks, and a shop with dye kits, e-books, a video course and dye plant seeds. At the studio, fabrics, knitting yarns, thick carpet yarns, clothing and cords are dyed to order in small batches and limited collections. Dyeing is done primarily with wild flora from forest and meadow as well as historical dye plants, which are grown on a small scale in the allotment garden. Clients include Tisca Rugs, the German Archaeological Institute, Greenpeace, Wissenschaft im Dialog, the Berlin Weissensee School of Art and the Academy of Fashion & Design (AMD). The studio is located in the Studios ID, Genslerstr. 13 in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen and is open for workshops and by appointment. Since 2024, monthly colour notes with dyeing experiments and tutorials have been published on Patreon.
