About Fassmer
Fr. Fassmer GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company in its fifth generation with around 175 years of tradition, headquartered in Berne on the Weser river. The company manufactures and supports special-purpose vehicles and systems for the maritime industry: research vessels such as the METEOR IV, naval vessels such as the Offshore Patrol Vessel Sentinel for the Republic of Singapore, as well as hulls for training boats of the German Navy. The business areas comprise Maritime, Defence, Composite and Service; production takes place in steel and hull construction, in piping construction, and in fibre-reinforced plastics processing for boats and components. With the expansion of its maritime manufacturing capacities, Fassmer has also been producing at the Stralsund site since 2025, including hull construction for four training boats of the German Navy (SAMSe mod). In addition to newbuilds, the company offers maintenance, service and training, including dual study programmes. Customers come from shipping, naval defence and marine research, including the German Navy, the Republic of Singapore Navy and, as a cooperation partner, the classification society DNV.
