About Franken Guss

Franken Guss GmbH & Co. KG is a foundry based in Kitzingen in Lower Franconia that produces customized cast parts made of iron and aluminium. The iron foundry processes 15 different iron grades using the sand casting process at a capacity of 80,000 tonnes per year, including grey cast iron with flake, spheroidal (nodular) and vermicular graphite including austempered (ADI) variants. The aluminium foundry achieves a capacity of 4,500 tonnes and works with the horizontal cold chamber die casting and laminar die casting processes. The company offers the entire value chain at one site: melting operation, in-house pattern shop, casting finishing, heat treatment, machining and assembly. As a development partner of its customers, Franken Guss implements design improvements up to weight savings. Buyers include the automotive industry for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, as well as the electromobility, wind energy, rail infrastructure and hydrogen production sectors. The company belongs to the JORA Group with the sister foundry Sachsen Guss in Chemnitz.
