The idea of Franz Iten AG
Franz Iten AG is a technical manufacturing partner based in Birmensdorf near Zurich that has been producing tube and profile components for industry since 1951. Its core business comprises CNC tube bending, mandrel bending, profile bending as well as rolling and roll bending of tubes and profiles with diameters from 2 to 100 mm – including round tubes, rectangular tubes and special profiles. Production goes beyond bending: CNC milling, CNC turning, drilling, sawing, welding, soldering, grinding, polishing and the assembly of finished subassemblies are all part of the service portfolio. With more than 700 bending tools manufactured in-house, the company can reduce tooling costs and lead times; missing tools are produced in its own toolmaking shop. Materials processed include steel, stainless steel, aluminium, non-ferrous metals and special materials. Customers come from aerospace, mechanical engineering, industry (including flow measurement), defence, shipbuilding, the amusement park and rail vehicle industries as well as metal construction; the company is a certified supplier of Pilatus Aircraft Ltd.

Materials and alloys
Steel
Classic material for tube and profile bent parts in mechanical engineering and metal construction.
Stainless steel
Corrosion-resistant components, including chrome-nickel steel for demanding applications.
Aluminium
Lightweight metal for bent parts, e.g. in aerospace and industry.
Non-ferrous metals
Non-ferrous metals for tube and profile bent parts depending on requirements.
Copper
Used, among other things, for flanging and soldering of tubes of various material hardnesses.
Special materials
Special alloys, e.g. for flow measuring devices with particular machining requirements.
