About us
GABO Werkstofftechnik, based in Essingen (Baden-Württemberg), emerged from Scholz Rissprüftechnik GmbH and offers materials testing, failure analyses and training. Its range of services includes non-destructive testing methods such as magnetic particle testing (MT/flux method), ultrasonic testing (UT), eddy current testing (ET) for hardness and mix-up testing, dye penetrant testing (PT) and visual inspection (VT) including sorting work, dimensional inspection and endoscopy. In addition, destructive materials testing in the laboratory (partner WTL), heat treatment with six furnaces (partner OWZ), demagnetization, shot blasting, reworking as well as machining of samples and small series by turning and milling are offered. Testing takes place at the testing center in Essingen or mobile directly at the customer's site – around the clock, 365 days a year. As part of the GABO STAHL Group, the company serves industries such as rail transport, aerospace, construction, electronics, transport and medicine.

Materials & Processes
Ferritic materials
Ferritic materials are preferably tested for surface defects using magnetic particle testing (flux method).
Non-ferrous materials
For non-ferrous materials, surface testing is carried out using the penetrant method (dye penetrant testing).
