Gähwiler AG is a Swiss family business in its third generation, based in Oberkirch (LU), active in water treatment for over 50 years. The company produces decalcification and softening systems based on ion exchange (dual, alternating, parallel and duplex systems) as well as activated carbon filters, fine filters, dosing systems, reverse osmosis systems, UV disinfection systems and full demineralization cartridges. The value chain covers needs analysis and design, production of the systems, installation and commissioning as well as service, maintenance and repairs with its own spare parts warehouse. Softening systems are manufactured in stainless steel or two-part design with minimum rinse and salt water consumption; activated carbon filters are based on activated carbon from coconut shells, reverse osmosis systems on technical membranes. Customers come from residential construction, commerce, industry, gastronomy, healthcare, agriculture and shipping; Gähwiler systems are in operation on 11 steamboats of Swiss lake navigation. With around 13 employees and over 15'000 installed systems, the company serves customers throughout Switzerland.
