About Galvano Weis
Galvano Weis is a job-shop finisher specializing in electroplating and surface technology, based in Emmering near Munich. The company coats its customers' components with a spectrum of corrosion-protection processes such as chemically deposited nickel (Mid/High Phos), hard anodizing and zinc plating, through to decorative surfaces such as silver plating, gold plating and chromium plating (Chrome III). For aluminium, chromium-VI-free processes such as clear passivation (Surtec 650), Alodine 1200/2040, anodizing, chromic acid anodizing as well as the company's own branded techniques Passolux1000 and Ökoxal are offered; further processes include copper plating, nickel plating, tin plating and Mn phosphating. Production runs in 24-hour operation on a total of eight production lines across 10,000 m² of total floor space with around 90 employees. Customers come from the automotive, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, medical technology, aerospace, marine, special machinery construction and optical industries. The company was founded in 1960 by Manfred Weis in Munich and has been based in Emmering since 1997; the managing director is Markus Weis.

History

Founded by Manfred Weis in Munich-Giesing; moved to Munich city centre in 1962, second site for the hard chrome plating division added in 1967.

Acquisition of Wittenhagen Oberflächentechnik GmbH and relocation of the company's registered office to Emmering; Markus Weis becomes managing director.
