About GLA-WEL
GLA-WEL GmbH in Melle is an owner-managed, medium-sized family business of the Glahs and Welkener owner families and has been producing metal products in steel, stainless steel and aluminium since 1996. The focus is on CNC-controlled sheet-metal and metal processing with a high level of in-house production depth: 2D laser cutting up to 25 mm sheet thickness in a 4×2 m format, bending up to 4 m length, joining and welding with 40 welding specialists, machining, grinding and deburring as well as glass bead blasting in a blasting cabin with a 7×2 m working area. The company manufactures individual parts and complete welded assemblies in single-item and series production, complemented by design, development and assembly. Its own product portfolio includes valves for water and wastewater engineering such as slide gates, sluice gates, flaps, backflow prevention flaps, stop logs and flood protection elements in stainless steel and HDPE, as well as dog transport boxes and transport trailers in aluminium and stainless steel. Customers come from mechanical engineering, construction, food production, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, water and wastewater engineering, as well as the public sector; deliveries are made across Germany and Europe. The site comprises around 9,000 m² of production floor space with more than 650 pallet positions for material stock.
