Specialist in aluminium sand casting from Heilbronn

Grabert Aluformguss GmbH, based in Heilbronn, specialises in aluminium sand casting and is a partner to the automotive industry and mechanical engineering. The company produces demanding, sometimes thin-walled cast parts using gravity and low-pressure casting, including series parts on the fully automatic moulding line HWS EFA 5.5 (flask size 1250 x 800 x 500 mm) as well as prototypes with a die-casting-like surface. Part weights range from 0.2 kg to 50 kg; all common standardised aluminium alloys are processed. The range of services includes casting simulation, engineering/CAD, in-house pattern making, heat treatment (T6), 5-axis CNC machining, finishing, assembly, jig and machine building, and product inspection. Around 100 employees produce ready-to-install components at the Heilbronn and Langenbrettach sites on over 5,000 square metres and deliver them just in time. Customers include renowned companies from the automotive and electrical industries, mechanical and valve engineering, as well as medical and rail vehicle technology.

Quality and Certification

Every cast part is inspected before delivery in the quality assurance department; laser scanners, 3D CNC measuring machines (GOM), X-ray units, spectral and thermal analysis as well as tensile and hardness testing are used. First sample parts are sampled according to VDA standard; since 2001 the company has been certified according to ISO 9001.
