Workshop for Metal Design

Gradinger Design is a workshop for metal design and artistic blacksmithing in Mainz. The family business was founded in 1886 and is now run in its fourth generation by owner Michael Gradinger. The workshop produces designed metal objects for indoor and outdoor use, including straight or curved staircases, gates, balustrades, plant supports as well as vases, bowls and sacral works. Production is carried out by hand in forging as well as in artistic and structural metalworking; the materials used are steel and stainless steel. The range of services covers everything from design to on-site assembly, such as the installation of the new cathedral spire and the Domsgickel at Mainz Cathedral in 2013. Customers include firms from architecture, heritage conservation and sacral building.
