Heat treatment since 1968
Härtetechnik Hagen GmbH is an industrial contract heat treatment shop based in Hagen (Westphalia), active in the field of finishing steel parts since 1968. The mid-sized company with around 50 employees carries out all common heat treatment processes, including gas nitriding, gas nitrocarburizing, carbonitriding, case hardening, hardening, hardening and tempering, annealing, normalizing, tempering, bainitic hardening and tempering (ADI) as well as the in-house, trademark-protected FER-N-OX process (nitrocarburizing followed by oxidation). Induction hardening is offered through the sister company Induktivhärtetechnik Hagen GmbH, and combined heat treatments are also possible. Steel, cast and sintered materials of any size are treated – from unalloyed to low- and medium-alloy steels through to case-hardening, heat-treatable and tool steels. With a large nitriding furnace (diameter 1200 mm x 2500 mm) and an intercritical hardening and tempering furnace for large parts, including wind turbine gears, the company also serves bulky components. Customers include large companies from mechanical and tool engineering as well as renowned automotive suppliers. All furnace systems operate fully automatically controlled; a batch monitoring system ensures complete traceability.

Quality and certification
Every heat treatment is monitored and documented during the process by a batch monitoring system; batch records remain retrievable even years later. In the in-house laboratory with modern testing technology, every batch is checked after treatment against all specified requirements and is only released after flawless inspection.
