About HyProMag
HyProMag GmbH is a technology start-up founded in 2021 and based in Pforzheim, specializing in the reprocessing of rare-earth permanent magnets (Nd-Fe-B). The company offers services along the entire value chain of magnet recycling: analysis of the chemical composition and alloys of customer products, extraction, demagnetization and cleaning of magnets from products, dismantling of magnet-containing scrap (stationary and mobile), as well as the IP-protected HPMS technology (Hydrogen Processing of Magnetic Scrap), which uses hydrogen to break magnets down into powder. This is complemented by post-treatment of the HPMS powder, the production of magnet powders and alloys, and — planned — the production and coating of sintered and polymer-bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets. The portfolio is rounded out by consulting on recycling-friendly design and ethical supply chains, as well as licensing of the recycling processes. HyProMag is a sister company of HyProMag Limited (UK), a spin-out of the University of Birmingham, and was selected as a strategic project under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.
