About the Engineering Office IMBUS
The engineering office IMBUS was founded in 1995 in Potsdam as a consulting company and is run by its owner Dipl.-Ing., FA-Ing. Lutz Fabian, a personal member of the DVGW who headed several government-recognized test centers for gas measuring instruments. The office develops, builds and renews test rigs for gas and water meters – from design and construction or conversion through programming, sensor technology and standards to documentation, uncertainty analysis and service. A special focus is gas test engineering with sonic nozzles; in 1991 Mr. Fabian brought the first nozzle test bench for diaphragm gas meters approved in Germany through type approval, whose maintenance the office has looked after to this day. Together with the Dutch company I METER, a nozzle test rig for diaphragm gas meters of sizes G1.6 to G6 was developed, which was built in 2008 by Akhnaton LTD in Sofia and approved by the Dutch metrology authority NMI. Further offerings include gas engineering consulting, certifications in the gas sector, expert witness activities, risk analyses for explosion protection, and test rigs outside the meter sector, e.g. for bellows.
