About the Jakob Becker Group
The Jakob Becker Group is a family business in the waste and circular economy sector, founded in 1898 and now run by the fifth generation, headquartered in Mehlingen (Rhineland-Palatinate). With more than 2,400 employees at around 69 locations in Germany and Austria, the company covers the entire value chain: from container services, collection of municipal waste and wastewater technology to hazardous and special waste management and the operation of processing plants. Core facilities include six WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) recycling plants with a capacity of around 60,000 tonnes per year, refuse-derived fuel and sorting plants, waste wood processing facilities, chemical-physical treatment plants, and several biogas plants. Further services include document and data media destruction to DIN 66399, demolition work, brownfield remediation, scrap metal trading, and tank and plant engineering (Peter Spieleder GmbH). Customers come from industry, retail, trade, municipalities and the private sector. As a certified specialist waste management company under §§ 56/57 KrWG, the group also sells recycling products such as recycled plastic, topsoil and recycled gravel.
