About Jürgens Gießerei

Jürgens Giesserei GmbH & Co. KG in Emsdetten produces cast parts in spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile iron) and lamellar graphite cast iron (grey cast iron) with piece weights from 1 to 1,000 kg. The specialization is on series parts in small and medium volumes, produced just in time, as well as on complex castings with demanding geometries. The range of services extends from briefing through prototyping with FEM calculations and computer simulation, core making, mould making and melting operations to post-treatment with CNC machining (drilling, turning, milling), priming, painting and galvanizing. In the field of casting logistics (GLO), components are stored corrosion-protected in a fully automated high-bay racking system and delivered worldwide via just-in-time delivery. All production steps take place at the Emsdetten site in Germany, including packaging in an automatic packaging system and shipping via an own loading hall. Quality assurance comprises spectrometer analyses as well as inspection-plan-based ultrasonic, hardness and visual tests.

Materials and Casting Processes

EN-GJS

Spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile iron)

Highly stressed, precisely manufactured precision parts with high tensile strength in grades from EN-GJS-350-22 to EN-GJS-900-2.

EN-GJL

Lamellar graphite cast iron (grey cast iron)

Castings with good thermal conductivity and damping properties for engines, cylinders and machinery, in grades from EN-GJL-100 to EN-GJL-350.

Chromerz-Sand

Core material with additives

Temperature-resistant core sand from the in-house core making shop, whose mixture is individually matched to the casting.
