About KARODUR
The KARODUR group from Troisdorf near Cologne consists of KARODUR Wirkteller GmbH and KARODUR Pressplatten GmbH. Wirkteller GmbH offers waterjet cutting in 2D, 3D as well as micro waterjet cutting (Finecut) on six systems for industrial and private customers. The pure waterjet process is used for soft and sensitive materials, while the abrasive waterjet process is used for hard materials. Since 2002, Pressplatten GmbH has been producing press panels made of PVC, C-PVC and PP as well as thermoplastic composites, which are exported worldwide – for PVC up to 100 millimetres in thickness and beyond. With the product brand KAROTEC, fibre-reinforced lightweight panels are being developed. A further speciality are Wirkteller (wire cake plates) and cake grids for dough and mixing machines of the baking industry. Customers come from aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, construction, electrical, food and medical technology.

Materials and Processes
Pure waterjet process
Pure water for machining sensitive or soft materials such as foodstuffs, paper, rubber, textiles and thin plastics.
Abrasive waterjet process
With fine grit grain for cutting dense, hard materials such as rock, glass, ceramics, composites, stainless steel, titanium and aluminium.
Micro waterjet cutting
Precision cutting with a jet diameter of 0.2 mm and a tolerance of ± 0.01 mm for metals such as titanium, aluminium, stainless steel and copper.
PVC
Basis of the press panels produced since 2002, up to 100 mm in thickness and beyond.
Post-chlorinated PVC (C-PVC)
Core business focus of Pressplatten GmbH with growing demand.
PP
Material of the press panels and thermoplastic composites.
PMMA
Thermoplastic composite from the pressing technology.
Carbon fibre and glass fibre (fibre-reinforced)
Newly developed fibre-reinforced composite materials, e.g. for lightweight construction applications such as trailer manufacturing.
Thermoplastic composite panels (KAROTEC)
Pressed and bonded material compositions including thermoplastic/duo blends for high strengths.
