Full-service provider for tool and mould making

The KNARR Unternehmensgruppe, headquartered in Helmbrechts in Upper Franconia, was founded in 1994 and has evolved from a pure toolmaking company into a full-service provider for tool and mould making. The group consists of three companies: KNARR Vertriebs GmbH distributes standard parts, tools and machines, KNARR Werkzeugfertigung GmbH manufactures precision parts in turning, milling, grinding and EDM technology as well as injection moulding tools, and KNARR Formtechnik GmbH in Laichingen processes mould bases and plates (P-plates). The product portfolio includes standard parts such as slide systems, ejector technology, centring and guiding elements, core pins, staged ejector drives and thermal insulation plates, most of which are available from stock. Manufacturing ranges from 2D, 2.5D and 3D milling (3- and 5-axis, HSC) to ultra-precision turning, surface, profile, cylindrical and centreless grinding through to sink and wire EDM, deep hole drilling and laser engraving. Tactile and optical metrology ensures accuracies down to 0.001 mm. The ISO 9001-certified company supplies renowned national and international customers from tool and mould making, injection moulding toolmaking and mechanical engineering; a warehouse in Leiria (Portugal) supports international supply.
