About Kryorec GmbH
Kryorec GmbH was founded in 2006 as a partner company of Kunststoffrecycling CKT GmbH & Co. KG to separate plastic-metal composites using a cryogenic process. The company accepts production waste such as reject parts, sprues, residues, start-up lumps, aluminium-plastic composites and hybrid components, and processes them into single-source, grade-pure ground materials and regranulate. Its services include toll grinding, processing of plastic composites (metals and non-ferrous metals), complete disposal concepts with a focus on plastics through to film and paper, and regranulation of engineering plastics. Cryogenic separation with nitrogen exploits the differing embrittlement sensitivities of the materials; afterwards, the plastic and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper and brass are separated using a hammer mill and an eddy-current separator. The ground materials are sold to compounders, injection moulders and traders and used in the new production of a wide variety of products. In 2023, the partner company CKT was taken over; today, Kryorec GmbH employs 25 staff at three locations in Thuringia and Saxony.
